On Sunday-6-October the final day of the Bogota 125th Anniversary Homecoming Weekend began with a 2 mile "Fun Run" for Alumni of the Bogota Cross Country teams. This feature a course that started on the Fiegel Field Baseball Diamond. It then moved through Olsen Park. It would cross to both sides of the park then up to River Rd. On their return the runners traveled to the Swim Club Parking. The final stage was back onto Fiegel Field, around the West End Zone before a dash to the finish line. The field consisted of both Women and Men runners from the last five decades.
Before the race the participants gathered at the homecoming tent to do a few warm-ups, have a small breakfast, and to reconnect with former classmates. After all the contestations gathered for a group photo the race began. The runners , with a few who chose to walk the course were sent on their way. Some of the veteran racers had the chance to be accompanied by members of the current Varsity Squad. Other formed into groups to enjoy a cool fall morning. When the finish line can into site the top three runners held hands and cross the line together. As the remaining members of the field came down the shoot , there was still the desire to make one final sprint to the end.
When the race was done the races compared experience and thought on the run. And some would thank their partners for "Not allowing me to start walking ". Then wishing them good luck on the rest of their season.
