On Wednesday-11- September the Bogota Cross County Bucs opened their defense of their 2018 Patriot League Women's and Men's title. They took on Hawthorne Christian Academy, Saddle River Day School and Paterson Charter School at the Garret Mountain Reservation race course. In the Women's race the Lady Bucs sweep the top five finished over both Hawthorne Christian Academy, and Saddle River Day School. Paterson Charter did not field a Women's team.
Maryann Gesmundo would win both races with Amandin Fernandez, Lara Pena, Natalie Hardwick, and Ashley Bautista following in order. The Lady Bucs record is now 2-0.
In the Men's Bogota would have victories over all three opponents. The Bucs would have all five fastest times against Hawthorne Christian Academy, and Saddle River Day School. Versus Paterson Charter School would win 4 of the five top spots. Jesus Michel, Dylan LeMay, and Sasha Mehta placed first, second and third in all three races. Dennis Toremis , and Leandro Rojas scores fourth and fifth respectfully against Hawthorne Christian Academy, and Saddle River Day School. Mr. Toremis had a fifth place finish against Paterson Charter School. The Men's record is now 3-0.
Both squads next compete on Saturday-14-September in the Back to the Mountain Invitational at the Darlington Park race course. The first race is scheduled to begin at 9:00a
