On Sunday-4-August the Save The Animals Rescue Team II (START II) held an Indoor Garage Sale in the Bogota Recreation Center. This was their second garage sale of the year in Bogota. START II is a group that visits animal shelter, and take in adoptable animals offering them a clean safe place to stay until a permanent owner can be found. Shoppers were greeted by “Sammy” who acts as their Spokes Dog.
A Veterinary contacted START II about a dog who was not being taken care of properly. When the original owners face charges on Animal abuse Sammy needed a new home. Members of START II took him in and nursed him back to health. Sammy who was once nervous around people is now an animal who welcomes the gentle petting and attention from those attending START II event.
This event was an Indoor Garage Sale offering merchandise from clothing and toys for both animals and people , along with other items for sale. All the available items were priced at $3.00 or less to encourage more buyers. The proceeds from these sales will be going to START II to further help animals in need. This includes veterinary care, food and shelter for pets looking for their forever home. START II aids in the education and about the importance of spaying , or neutering house hold pets.
START II next event will be a Autumn Fling tricky - tray Raffle at Vitale’s Restaurant in Teaneck. This will take place on Sunday-20-October starting at 11:00a. Tickets are priced at $50.00 and must be purchased in advance. All proceeds will go to the START II animal shelter. Vitale’s Restaurant is located at 293 Queen Anne Rd Teaneck, NJ
Other fund-raisers are donating to their Go Fund Me Page at Go Fund Me Start II . There will also be a Bowling For Paws event held at the Parkway Lanes on Saturday-21-September. This is scheduled to start at 6:30p. Parkway Lanes are located at 200 US rte 46 Elmwood Park, NJ
