On Tuesday-18- June the Bogota Board of Education held their second meeting for the month of June. In his opening comments Superintendent Damian Kennedy said the decisions on hold the Graduation ceremony for Bixby and the High School Class of 2019 will be made on Thursday morning. He said there are contingency plans available, which will be made public when the time is appropriate. The next part of the meeting was used to honour several facility and staff of the Board of Education. Lisa Tarino from Steen School. Debbie Hunter from Bixby and Jo Anne Hrabovsky from the High School were recognized for being name Teachers of the Year in Bergen County. Then Margie Maher, and Trish Miraldi from Bixby School and Maggie Andreazza from the Board of Education Office were thanked for their years of service to the Bogota Public School System upon their retirement. This was the final meeting attended by Student Representative Angelie Jaipersaud would attend. Ms.Jaipersaud was allowed to keep her name plate.
All the items on the agenda were passed, with all but one being a unanimous vote. This also marked the first Board of Education meeting to be officially videoed. The video will be made available on the Board of Education's website later this week. This is the final Board of Education for the 2018-19 school year. The Next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-27-August. The meeting will be held in the High School Cafeteria located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00p. The Public is invited to attend.
