On Saturday-18- May the Bogota Baseball Bucs played the owls from Park Ridge. This was play at the Feigel Field baseball Diamond and was the Senior game for Bogota. Before the game Bucs Coach Daniel Limone recognized the Senior players from both teams. He first introduced the five Seniors from Park Ridge. Zach Lewis, Jack Burns Tyler, Marsh, Connor LePore, and Tom Ryan and stepped forward and tipped their cap to the crowd. Then Coach Limone present the nine Bogota Seniors. Emilio Briones, Ethan Brugger, Matthew Fitzgerald, Kenny Grullon, Jake Marino, Jose Marte, Eris Rosario, Daniel Sanchez, and Argenis Soriano all tipped their cap in appreciation to the Audience. They were also given gifts to thank them for there service to Bogota Baseball.
When the game started Park Ridge would score 3 runs with their first at bat. The Owl's Mike Dirienzo would have a two run Double to start the scoring. In the Bogota half of the inning the Bucs Jose Marte would race for a 2 run, inside the park Home Run. The inning would end with the Owl's leading 3-2. Park Ridge would then score twice in each of the third and fourth innings taking a 7-2 advantage. In the Bottom of the fourth the Bucs would load the bases. Bogota's Jake Marino would hit a 3 run Triple. Park Ridge would still lead by the score would be 7-6 as the inning ended. The Owl's would score two more runs in the game and win by the score of 9-6.
Mike Dirienzo for Park Ridge and Jack Marino for Bogota would each have game highs with 3 Runs Batted In. Owl's Pitchers Connor LePore, and Tom Ryan would have 3 Strike outs apiece with Mr. Ryan getting credit for the win. Bogota's Jake Marino and Matthew Fitzgerald would throw 2 Strike out each. Bogota's record is now 8-12. The Bucs will be ranked #16 in the opening round NJSIAA North 1, Group 1 Tournament Men's Baseball Tournament This will be played on Monday-20-May when they travel to #1 Wallkill Valley. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00p
