Officer Jerome Fowler will represent the Bogota Police Dept. as a part of the Chapter #1 contingent. This year they are riding in remembrance of New York Police Dept. Officer Moira Smith. Officer Smith's End of Watch came on 11-September -2001.
This was to raise money for the 2019 Police Unity Tour in May of 2019. Processes from the ride will go to the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial and Museum, in Washington DC. The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. With a secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum. The tour started in 1997 in Florham Park with 18 riders in order to bring awareness of Police Officers who have been lost in the line of duty to the public. This first ride raised about $18,000 for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial. Over the first 20 years of the tour, over 20 million dollars for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial and Museum, along with the Recently Fallen Alert program
Their next ride will start on Wednesday- 9-May in East Hanover, NJ and is scheduled to be in Washington DC on Saturday-12- May.
