Results of Bogota Varsity Sports from Wednesday-3-April.
The Bogota Track and Field Squad opened their 2019 season with a Tri-Meet at Midland Park.
They competed against Midland Park and Palisades Park in both the Women and Men events. The Lady Bucs would out score Palisades Park 72-45, but they would lose 39-81 To Midland Park. Their record is now 1-1. The Men's squad would be out scored by both opponents. 53-72 to Midland Park, and 61-67 to Palisades Park . They start the season 0-2.
Both squads will next compete on Monday-8-April when they travel to Park Ridge, in a Tri-Meet against the host Park Ridge and Hawthorne Christian Academy. The meet is scheduled to start at 4:00p
The Men's Baseball Bucs traveled to Cresskill to play the Cougars. The two teams would be scoreless at the end of the first innings. Bogota would score 4 in the second and another 2 in the top of the third. Cresskill would answer back with 4 in their half of the third and two more in the bottom of the fourth. The score would remain tied at 6 until the sixth inning. The Bucs would score five times with their at bat, And the Cougars would respond with 4 when it was their turn at the plate. Bogota would be held scoreless in the top of the seventh. This gave the Cougars their chance and took their only lead of the game with the winning run in the home frame. Cresskill would win the game 12-11.
Cresskill's Jason Naccarella would hit the only Home Run of the game. He would also have a game high with 5 Runs Batted In. Daniel Sanchez would lead Bogota with 3 Runs Batted In. The Bucs record is now 1-1

The Lady Bucs also took the trip to Cresskill to face the Lady Cougars. After their come from behind win the game before, Bogota took control of the game from the first at bat. They would score 6 runs in each of the first two innings while giving up only one to the home team. The Lady Bucs would go on to win 16-1. Leila Kysier would hit the only Home Run of the game for Bogota. Ms. Kysier and Ciara Feliz have game highs of Three Runs batted in each. Ruby Recio and Julia Leal would each record a double. Amber Vazquez would win her second game of the season. Bogota's record is now 2-0
Earlier in the day NJ . com would rank the Lady Bucs #9 in the NJIC league.
Both the Lady Bucs and the Men's team play on Friday-5-April against Waldwick. And both teams will play at home. The Lady Bucs at Lady Buc Field in Olsen Park. With the Men playing at the Feigel Field Baseball Diamond. First pitch for both game will be at 4:00p
