On Saturday-23-February the Bogota Public Library and Bogota Beautiful held their fourth annual Community International Pot Luck. This year it was planned as a Lunch time event, and again held in the library's second floor Senior Centre. The food donated was from resident of Bogota to highlight their ethnic heritage. There was also music provided to create a relax setting which allowed the diners the chance to enjoy the different tastes, and allowed them to talk with there fellow resident. The entertainment started with the Adelphi Chamber Ensemble playing selection of Beethoven. Then Bogota Beautiful Chairperson Amaru Bustamante, Bogota Library Event Director Tom Shrnich, and Bogota 125th Anniversary Committee Chairperson Councilwoman Kathy Ferris addressed the gathering. They thanked everyone who donated their food items to the Lunch. They also thanked the Students from Bogota High School who volunteered their time to help serve and clean-up after the Lunch. They also talked about more events happening in Bogota to help celebrated the Borough's 125th Anniversary year. The Music continued with the Schiller Institute Choir singing a few songs. Then Councilman David MacFarlane played show tunes on the Piano accompanying Soloist Joy Hermalyn performing Broadway Show tunes. All the while people sat around share food, stories, and each other on a Saturday afternoon.
The next Bogota Beautiful event will take place on Monday-25-February starting at 7:00p. This will be in cooperation with the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation(NNJCF) will host a joint meeting to discuss the Fence Weaving project on the Bogota Earth Day event on Saturday-4-May. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce the Northern New jersey Community Foundation, and to show to the public how this "Fence Weaving" installation will work. As part of Earth Day one of the fences of the ball field along the W. Main St extension in Olsen Park has been chosen to be use. The Public is welcome to attend. This will be held at the Bogota Recreation Center located on 162 W. Main St. Bogota, NJ
