Bogota/Ridgefield Park Wrestling

 On Saturday-16-February the Bogota/Ridgefield Park Scarlet Bucs wrestling competed in The NJSIAA District 5 tournament at West Essex High School. Bogota/Ridgefield Park would send 8 wrestlers compete. 

In the Quarterfinal round 
at 106 lbs Adam Albino  would score a Major Decision  win of 14-3 over Thomas Comeau from Emerson/Park Ridge
at 120 lbs Andre Ruiz would win by Pin fall over Max Montoya from Dover
at 126 lbs  Darius Baez would defeat Quentin Arcibal of Morris Knolls by a score of 7-1
at 138 lbs  John Perez would Pin Charlie McVicar of Mt. Olive
at 145 lbs  Mathew Levesque  would lose to Dane Perrone from West Essex by Pin Fall
at 152 lbs  Kevin Flores  would lose to  Christian Carmichael of Paramus by Pin Fall
at 182 lbs  Louis Culala  would win by Pin Fall over  Joshua Beckford JFK / Paterson
at 285 lbs  Eris Rosario  would lose a 1-2 overtime decision to Nicholas Sullivan of Morris Knolls
The Scarlet Bucs would have 5 Wrestlers move into the Semi Final round.

In the Semifinal round
at 106 lbs  Adam Albino  would score an 8-7 win over Mike Pescatore of  West Essex
at 120 lbs  Andre Ruiz would win a 9-2 Decision over Carson Barry  of West Essex
at 126 lbs  Darius Baez would lose 0-6 to Caiden Brouwer  from Emerson/Park Ridge
at 138 lbs  John Perez would lose to Jonathan Bartley of West Essex by Pin Fall
at 182 lbs  Louis Culala would lose to Ronan Buckingham Morris Knolls by Pin Fall
Two Bogota/Ridgefield would advance to the Final Round. And three would   move into the third place bout.

For Third Place
at 126 lbs  Darius Baez would lose a Major Decision to Raymond Dellosa of Paramus 1-12
at 138 lbs  John Perez would Pin Joey Dellmonachie from Morris Knolls
at 182 lbs  Louis Culala would lose to Ryan Sullivan of Mt. Olive by Pin Fall

In the Finals
at 106 lbs  Adam Albino would score an 5-2 win over Elyjah Jackson from Teaneck
at 120 lbs  Andre Ruiz would lose 1-3 to Logan Mazzeo of Emerson/Park Ridge

As a team Bogota/Ridgefield Park finished sixth in the nine team field.

Adam Albino at 106 lbs,  Andre Ruiz at 120 lbs, and  John Perez at 138 lbs  have qualified for to the Region 2 meet at Mount Olive NJ. The first bouts will take place on Wednesday-20-February  at 6:00p. They will continue on  Friday- 22-February at 6:00p and on Saturday -23-February at  9:30a.  Seeding and opponents to be announce at a later date.
