On Thursday-3- January the Bogota Board of Education held its Reorganization meeting for 2019. The meeting started with the reading of the results from the November elections. Incumbent Trustee Eileen Lewis received the most votes with 986. Next was former Trustee Michael Connors receiving 827 votes. Then Incumbent Trustee Kathryn Van Buren followed with 703 votes. These were the top three Candidates and won the three open seats on the Board of Education. The other Candidates were Kathleen Pagan with 629 votes , and Robert Piterski with 609 vote. Ms. Lewis, Ms. Van Buren, and Mr. Connors were given the oath of office by Business Administrator Irfan Evcil.
Once the new Board was seated, the Trustees voted for a Board President. Lisa Kohles was re-elected President by a unanimous vote. Amanda Montgomery was re-elected as Vice President with 7 yes votes and two "present" votes
All agenda items passed. and the meeting was adjourned. The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-15-January and is scheduled to start at 7:00p. This will take place in the Cafeteria of Bogota High School located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl Bogota, NJ. This meeting is open to the public.
