The Township of Teaneck is having their annual Toy Drive. This will continue until Sunday-16-December. They are accepting new unwrapped toy to be delivered this Holiday Season. Donation can be dropped off at the Teaneck Municipal Building, the Police Headquarters, The Teaneck Public Library, and of the Firehouses, and the Teaneck Recreation Dept.

Starting on Sunday-1 July-2018 the Borough of Bogota will change the ordnance in what can be recycled. Bottle & cans recycling pick-up the Borough of Bogota will now be limited to: Aluminium, Glass, Bi-metal/Tin cans. Aluminium foils and pie plates will be accepted but must be clean. Plastic Containers with the symbol 1, 2, or 5 only will also be accepted. All recyclable material must be placed in reusable trash receptacles. Items places in plastic bag will not be collected. Paper and cardboard recycling remains unchanged.
The collectible the products that have been removed from the accepted list will now be accepted by The Borough of Bogota in cooperation with the Ridgefield Park environmental commission and collected in a separate way. The Trex Corporation has provided bins to accept the following item. Grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrapping, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, zip lock & other re-seal able bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags, and cereal bags. All recyclable materials must be clean, dry and free of food residue. For every 500 pounds of plastic collected the Trex Corporation will donate a new park bench, made from recycled materials. The benches will be donated to both Bogota and Ridgfield Park on a rotating basis. As of now a Trex collection bin is in the lobby of the Bogota Borough Hall and the Bogota Public Library can be accessed during regular business hours. More bins are planned for other locations in the future.
The collection day under the new rules will be Thursday-5-July (due to the Fourth of July Holiday) Then every other Wednesday.

Monday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents. It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -17- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

There will be a chance to learn machine, and hand sewing as well as shown different project and types of material. Members of The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. will be escorting Santa on his Lollipop tour of the Borough. This a final chance for the Bogota Children to show Santa that they have be nice this year. He starts his tour at about Noon with Lollipops being passed out by his helpers.
