On Saturday-15-December the newly formed cooperative Wrestling team of Bogota and Ridgefield Park opened their 2019 Season. Their first completion was at the 44th Frank Dawson Holiday Tournament at Garfield. Bogota would finish fifth out of the 11 teams entered. Five Bogota Wrestlers would make it to the Semi-Final round. Two would move on to the final match in their weight category. For third place honours Adam Albino at 106 lbs would score a Major Decision (13-4) over Noel Record of Lodi for the win. Darius Baez at 126 lbs would lose a 5-4 to Austin Galowiz of Ft. Lee. Louis Cuala would be Pinned by Jamal Allan of Passaic Tech.
In the Finals, at 285 lbs, Patrick O'Reilly would be Pinned by Michael Alfonso of Garfield. Andre Ruiz would win the 120 lbs class with a Pin Fall over Ryan Perez of Passaic Tech.
The next Bogota / Ridgefield Park will be on Wednesday -19- December. This will be against Leonia and be held in Speary Gym. The first bout is scheduled to start at 7:00p.
