On Thursday-18-October the Bogota Borough Council held their second meeting for the Month of March. At this meeting a small number of Agenda items were available to be voted on. One was to approve the submission of a Grant to complete the next phase of the Leonia Ave paving and improvement project. This should include the rest of Leonia Ave from near E. Ft. Lee Rd south to Linwood Ave. Two other paving projects are planned for next year. One os Larch Ave. form W. Broad St. to the Teaneck border. Another is Bergen County repaving Main St. from the Teaneck border to the William Ryan Bridge.
Other item approved was the approval of Stephanie O'Connor as a Firefighter for Engine Co. #3
Also the the approval of accepting two Humvees for the Bogota Police Dept. These vehicles will be acquired through the federal program called Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO). This program aloud the Bogota to have the two Humvees that have aided them in flooding conditions. This has also provided the Police Dept with supplies and equipment for the Police Officers. One of the current Humvees, now stationed in Bogota, is set to be reassigned in the future. Which will allow the Police to have three of these vehicles available for use.
It was also announced for the General Election on Tuesday-6-November the polling station for districts 2 & 3 will be moved to Steen School for due to the construction at Bogota High School. Parking and handicap access to Steen School will be off River Rd south of W. Main St. The voting will take place in the Steem Gym which can be accessed for Orchard Terrace. The Main entrance to Steen School is 296 W. Main St Bogota, NJ. All Public School will be on Tuesday-6-November
Districts 2 & 3 is that part of the Borough located East of the Railroad tracks & North of Beechwood Ave
The next Bogota Borough Council meeting is schedule for Thursday-8-November, it will start at 7:30p. It is scheduled to be held in the Borough Council Chambers located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota NJ
