Starting on Monday-26- February the main parking lot and front entrance to Bogota High School will be closed. This is due to the reconstruction of the Parking lot. Work is scheduled to continue until First week of September-2018. All access to the High School will be through the side door on the North side of the building.

Starting on Sunday-1 July-2018 the Borough of Bogota will change the ordnance in what can be recycled. Bottle & cans recycling pick-up the Borough of Bogota will now be limited to: Aluminium, Glass, Bi-metal/Tin cans. Aluminium foils and pie plates will be accepted but must be clean. Plastic Containers with the symbol 1, 2, or 5 only will also be accepted. All recyclable material must be placed in reusable trash receptacles. Items places in plastic bag will not be collected. Paper and cardboard recycling remains unchanged.
The collectible the products that have been removed from the accepted list will now be accepted by The Borough of Bogota in cooperation with the Ridgefield Park environmental commission and collected in a separate way. The Trex Corporation has provided bins to accept the following item. Grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrapping, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, zip lock & other re-seal able bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags, and cereal bags. All recyclable materials must be clean, dry and free of food residue. For every 500 pounds of plastic collected the Trex Corporation will donate a new park bench, made from recycled materials. The benches will be donated to both Bogota and Ridgfield Park on a rotating basis. As of now a Trex collection bin is in the lobby of the Bogota Borough Hall and the Bogota Public Library can be accessed during regular business hours. More bins are planned for other locations in the future.
The collection day under the new rules will be Thursday-5-July (due to the Fourth of July Holiday) Then every other Wednesday.

Starting on Thursday 20-Sept. and going until Sunday 23- Sept. The St.Joseph's Church will hold their 11th annual Carnival and Food Festival. Rides will open at 6:00p and run until 10:00p Weekdays, and 11:00p on Weekends. They will be selling super 50/50 tickets for $100 /ticket. This year there will only be 100 tickets sold. The grand prize will be 35% of the money raised . A second prize of 15% will also be awarded. They are also looking for Volunteers to help with each day of the Carnival. Each night of the festival the Bogota Police will close Palisade Ave from 6:00p-10:00p in both directions. This will extend from E. Ft. Lee Rd to E. Main Sts. Including parts of Hill St. and 4th Pl.

This will be presented by representatives from New York Life Insurance Company. It is scheduled to start at 7:30p. The next day of the Teaneck Farmers Market for this season. Shoppers will be able purchase locally grown and produced food items. This annual event will be every Thursday from June to the end of October. The stand open at 12:00 noon and continue until 6:00p The Teaneck Farmers Market is located in the municipal parking lot along Beverly Rd Teaneck, NJ. There is additional parking available near by.

The Bogota Public Library will present Reading to Abbey starting at 10:30a. Abbey is a therapy dog who comes to public libraries in order to aid help students who may have challenges in reading. The Bogota Public Library will host a workshop for young athletes in Bogota This will be the first of four Saturday's to encourage Students to learn more about how learning any sport can be beneficial in everyday life. It will be in two separate age groups. One group for anyone ages from 2-7 will run from 11:00a. to noon. All Students who participate must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian throughout the event. The Bogota Band Parents will again sponsor its Town Wide Garage Sale It will run from 10:00a to 4:00p rain or shine. The cost to participate is $15.00 this will allow the seller to have their address listed on the official garage sale map and they will receive yard sign for their address show that are a participant. Process from the registration fee will go to help support the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneer Band. The Bogota Band Parents is another group of Families who join together to help fund the High School program when School fund are not available. Some of the help provided is trip planning and addition transportation to away football game, and Band competitions. Healthy Kids Running Series a nonprofit organization that gets boys and girls Pre-K through Middle School active, feel accomplished and lays the foundation for a healthy lifestyle, compete in their first race of the five-consecutive-week Series. This will take place at Fiegel Field starting at 4:30p. It will run for 5 straight weeks ending on Sunday 14-October. Fees start at $10.00 for one race. or $35 for the entire series of five races.
