The Bogota Public Library will host a series of Author talks starting in September and continuing into November. This will be a chance to listen to Authors thoughts and feelings about their publications.
The first one will be Thursday-20- September and will feature Raleena Bush discussing her book "Mia & Mya Twin Adventures". This is about Twin Sisters who along with their single mom learn different lessons everyday. In this two story book Mia has to learn to overcome bullying Mya’s friend, and the twins have to face the fact that they do not have their dad in their life. This will occur during a special story time and scheduled to begin at 10:00a
The next discussion will be on Thursday-18-Ocotber and start at 7:00p. This will be Jeff Ryan's "A Mouse Divided: How Ub Iwerks Became Forgotten, and Walt Disney Became Uncle Walt" This will tell the story starting, in 1928, two very different best friends invented Mickey Mouse. The success tore them apart. Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks’s friendship is a story of betrayal, love, war, money, power, tragedy, intrigue, humor, despair, and hope. The true story of how the Disney Empire was made is a captivating page-turner, endlessly fascinating and revealing. And it’s never been fully told—until now. Discover the men behind the mouse, and the mystery behind the magic.
Then on Tuesday- 6- November the featured book will be "Home at Last: A Journey Toward Higher Consciousness" by Sarada Chiruvolu. The Author will tell how "Home at Last" explains specific landmarks that people encounter during the journey toward enlightenment, based on the author’s direct experience. The book also lets readers know what they can expect when confronting the mysterious, awakened inner force called kundalini. It explains how our outlook and goals change radically as kundalini directs our day-to-day life. Part spiritual memoir, part meditation handbook, Chiruvolu’s writings are clear and accessible yet contain profound spiritual insights.
