Starting on Monday-26- February the main parking lot and front entrance to Bogota High School will be closed. This is due to the reconstruction of the Parking lot. Work is scheduled to continue until First week of September-2018. All access to the High School will be through the side door on the North side of the building.

The Bogota Police Dept has issued a traffic alert for Thursday-16-November. The Suez water company will be working on the main water line under the street. Work is schedule to continue until late January -2018. This will occur on W. Main St. between Larch and Elm Aves. This is scheduled to start at 7:00a and run to 4:00p. All parking on W.Main will be suspend during this time. Traffic in both directions may be detoured during this project, please plan alternate routes. Business parking will be permitted on both Larch and Elm Aves and may cause additional congestion on those streets.

Starting on Sunday-1 July-2018 the Borough of Bogota will change the ordnance in what can be recycled. Bottle & cans recycling pick-up the Borough of Bogota will now be limited to: Aluminium, Glass, Bi-metal/Tin cans. Aluminium foils and pie plates will be accepted but must be clean. Plastic Containers with the symbol 1, 2, or 5 only will also be accepted. All recyclable material must be placed in reusable trash receptacles. Items places in plastic bag will not be collected. Paper and cardboard recycling remains unchanged.
The collectible the products that have been removed from the accepted list will now be accepted by The Borough of Bogota in cooperation with the Ridgefield Park environmental commission and collected in a separate way. The Trex Corporation has provided bins to accept the following item. Grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrapping, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, zip lock & other re-seal able bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags, and cereal bags. All recyclable materials must be clean, dry and free of food residue. For every 500 pounds of plastic collected the Trex Corporation will donate a new park bench, made from recycled materials. The benches will be donated to both Bogota and Ridgfield Park on a rotating basis. As of now a Trex collection bin is in the lobby of the Bogota Borough Hall and the Bogota Public Library can be accessed during regular business hours. More bins are planned for other locations in the future.
The collection day under the new rules will be Thursday-5-July (due to the Fourth of July Holiday) Then every other Wednesday.

The Village of Ridgefield Park will have their annual 4th of July Parade starting at 11:30 beginning at Preston and Hudson St. Then will head South on Main St to Brewster Ave.

Will celebrate the 27th Anniversary of their 4th of July Community event. This will start with a Parade from Hillside Ave at Queen Anna Rd.to Votee Park starting at 9:00a. Then the Community Celebration will be held in Votee Park and run from 10:00a to 2:00p
Hackensack, NJ
The City of Hackensack will hold its annual July 4th Celebration at Foschini Park. This will have Game, Rides , and vendors during the day. There will be a performance by the Time Machine Band starting at 7:15p and a Fireworks show schedule for 9:15P

The Leonia Sports Booster Summer Carnival will continue. This is scheduled to run until Sunday 8-July. Rides open at 5:00p daily until 11:00p on weekdays and open at 2:00p 11:00p on Weekends and Wednesday- 4-July. There will be a fireworks show on Wednesday 4-July after Sunset.
The Carnival will take place in the Henry Hoebel area along Ft. Lee Rd Leonia, NJ

This will be the opening day the Teaneck Farmers Market for this season. Shoppers will be able purchase locally grown and produced food items. This annual event will be every Thursday from June to the end of October. The stand open at 12:00 noon and continue until 6:00p The Teaneck Farmers Market is located in the municipal parking lot along Beverly Rd Teaneck, NJ. There is additional parking available near by.

The coaches from Bogota High School football team and the Bogota Recreation Commission will hold a Young Buc football camp. This is open to Students from 3rd to 8th grade would want improve their football skills. This will be run by Bogota Varsity Football Coach Brain Apppleton. He will be assisted by members of his coaching staff and some varsity football players. This will take place on at Fiegel Field with no charge.

Members of the Bogota Football Bucs will be holding a carwash on Saturday-15-July. This will take place in the Valley Bank Parking lot located at the corner of E. Main St. and Palisades Ave Bogota, NJ. The carwash will run from 1:00 to 5:00p ( with a low chance of rain expected). Prices are $5.00 for a standard car and $7.00 for a Truck, or SUV. Prices include a quick hose down, full wash & rinse, and hand drying. Process will go to the general Football Parents funds used to support the Bogota Football team.

The Bogota Public Library will offer an AARP Defensive Driving Course. This is designed for drivers over the age of 50 and will explain update driving rules and teach defensive driving techniques. This will start at 11:00a and be held in the second floor Senior Centre There is a $15 fee for AARP members and $20 for non-members and anyone attending is asked to register with the library in advance. The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office.
