Starting on Monday-26- February the main parking lot and front entrance to Bogota High School will be closed. This is due to the reconstruction of the Parking lot. The Bogota Police Dept has issued a traffic alert for Thursday-16-November. The Suez water company will be working on the main water line under the street. Work is schedule to continue until late January -2018. This will occur on W. Main St. between Larch and Elm Aves. This is scheduled to start at 7:00a and run to 4:00p. All parking on W.Main will be suspend during this time. Traffic in both directions may be detoured during this project, please plan alternate routes. Business parking will be permitted on both Larch and Elm Aves and may cause additional congestion on those streets.

The Bogota Public Library will change its eContent platform. On Tuesday -8-May the contract with bibliotheca for Cloud Library and service will end. This will be replaced by OverDrive at all BCCLS libraries. OverDrive will offer a new, intuitive app named Libby. This is designed to so that it will be easier to adapt to this new platform. The Bogota VFW Post #5561 will host their annual Loyalty Day program.They will award the winners of the "Voice of Democracy" and "Patriot's Pen" essay contest. They will also display the work of the colouring contest for the younger Students. This will be held in the Main Hall located at 240 Leonia Ave Bogota, NJ. This is open to the Public and is a free event. This will take place in the Main Hall and start at 8:00p. There will be a local singing group providing live entertainment and a flag presentation. Then the winners of the Patriots Pen and "Voice of Democracy" writing competition will be announced. The winning essays will be read aloud and the writers will be given their awards.

Classes will be led by a Professional Yoga instructor. The instructors scheduled this year at Lynn Demetrakis and Kathryn Livingston. The classes are open to anyone regardless of age, or experience. The classes will meet at the Band shell in Olsen Park depending on the number of attendees classes may be held in the band shell or on the lawn in front of the band shell. The Bogota Band Parents will again sponsor its Spring Town Wide Garage Sale It will run from 10:00a to 4:00p rain or shine. The cost to participate is $15.00 this will allow the seller to have their address listed on the official garage sale map and they will receive yard sign for their address show that are a participant. The Bogota Public Library will offer an AARP Defensive Driving Course. This is designed for drivers over the age of 50 and will explain update driving rules and teach defensive driving techniques. This will start at 11:00a and be held in the second floor Senior Centre There is a $15 fee fro AARP members and $20 for non-members and anyone attending is asked to register with the library in advance. The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. This is Memorial Day weekend several closing have been announced.
- The Bogota Public Library will be closed on Saturday 26-May -Monday 28-May. They will reopen on Tuesday 29-May with regular Business hours.
- The Schools of the Bogota Public School system will be closed on Friday-25-May & Monday-29-May. Regular session will resume on Tuesday 30-May.
- St. Joseph's School will be closed on Friday-25-May. Regular session will resume on Tuesday 29-May.
- Trinity Lutheran School will be closed starting early on Friday-25-May. Regular session will resume on Tuesday-29-May.
- Bogart School will be closed on Monday 28-May,
- There will be no lawn waste collection on Monday-28-May
- Borough Hall offices will be closed on Monday-28-May

The Bogota VFW Ralph Hall post #5561, and the Bogota American Legion Clifford Dunn Post #117 has announced the schedule for their Memorial Day celebrations for 2016. This year Memorial Day will be on Monday -28-May. The Bogota VFW, American Legion and the Borough of Bogota will hold their Memorial Day Service starting at 11:00a. This will take place in front of Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ This event is free and opened to the Public. The Bogota Memorial Day Parade will start at Palisades Ave & Cedar St in Bogota. This will kick off at 2:00p The Parade will travel North on Palisade to E. Main St. It will turn left onto E. Main St and cross over the 1st Lt. Albert Graf Bridge to Elm Ave. It will make a right turn onto Elm ave and travel north to W. Grove St. It will turn Left onto W. Grove to Larch Ave. It will turn Left onto Larch Ave and travel South to Bogota Borough Hall and will end after passing by the reviewing stand.
In preparation for this Memorial Day the Bogota Dept. of Public Works has placed new American flags on the streetlight poles from E. Ft. Lee rd at Palisades Ave along the parade route to W. Main St and Larch Ave. There are also new flags hanging in front of Bogota Borough Hall on Larch Ave.
During the parade the Bogota Girl Scouts will be collecting food items for the St. Joseph's Food bank. Items such as canned goods, cereals, pasta, boxes of potatoes, rice & stuffing can be placed in the wagons that the Girls Scouts will be pulling as they march in the parade.
Also on that same Monday the Volunteer members of the Bogota Emergency Services Dept. will have their annual inspection. The members, with their equipment, of The Bogota Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad, will line in front of Borough Hall starting at 9:00a. They will then fall in to be reviewed by the Elected officials of Bogota Government. This will included Mayor Chris Kelemen and members of the Borough Council.
After the inspection the Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. will hold their remembrance ceremony starting at 10:00a at the memorial service in Borough Hall Park.
All these events are open to the public to view. The Bogota VFW will then host an indoor picnic of Hot-dogs and soda in the lower hall Ralph Hall, after the Parade. The post is located at 241 West. Shore Ave. Bogota, NJ
