On Monday-21-May the New York Susquehanna & Western Railway (NYSW) started the replacement of the crossing at W. Ft. Lee rd. This work is scheduled to last for five days causing W. Ft. Lee rd from River rd in Bogota to the west side of the crossing to be closed for the duration of the project. W. Ft. Lee from the Hackensack River to the Jesco building will remain open from the Hackensack approach. With the William Ryan Bridge is now open the work on this crossing is now able to begin. NYSW plan is to remove the asphalt from between the rails and from both sides of the track. The space between the rail and from 6" on both side of the rail will be replaced with precast concrete road bed. The railroad tracks will be fastened with the concrete. The vehicle road surface is textured for better traction when driving over the crossing. From the concrete edging to the existing roadway will be re-paved in asphalt. There will be no work done to the crossing gates and signal. Please plan for additional time with the use of alternate routes.
