On Saturday-21-April the Bogota Public Library will begin a week long series of workshops focusing on promoting personal financial literacy. All these event will be free of charge and open to the public. Some will be stand alone workshops while others will be incorporated into current Library programs. The first workshop will be on Saturday-21-April and will be on how to acquire information over the internet. This will be a workshop about finding reliable financial information online. The goal of this event is to aid in the crucial step in making information financial decisions from online resources. Another will follow the Library's Teen Action Group and will have representatives from Bogota Savings Bank to discuss basic financial planning with Student, along with their Parents. There will also be a workshop devoted to financial planning for Senior Citizens presented by AARP. As well as parts of the Library's Children story time events, to give younger Students a chance to be introduced to some basic money knowledge. The final event will be on Saturday -28-April an Crafts Storytime co-hosted by Bogota Savings Bank.
Money Smart Week is part of a joint effort by Bogota Public Library and Money Smart Advisory Council, working with The Chicago Federal Reserve Bank. These are all free event, but anyone attending is asked to register with the library in advance.
