The Bogart Memorial Church has announce the creation of the Flourish Community Art Studio in Bogota. This will be housed at 254 & 262 Elm Ave in Bogota. The Bogart Church has been in the process of redesigning the first floors of these building into an arts complex. The one studio, 254 Elm Ave, will be opening on Monday-12-March. These initial event to be held there will be Pottery Classes for Students. They will offer three session starting on Tuesday-13-March. Two session will be for Students from Kindergarten to Grade Six. Both will be for one hour with one class starting at 3:30p and the second starting at 4:30p. There will also be a advanced classes for Students from grades 7th to 12th. This will be a two hour session starting at 5:30p. The course will run for 7 weeks starting on Tuesday -13-March( there will be no classes on the week of 1-April).
The Studio is equipped with a kiln and two potter's wheels, and spaces to mold and paint items that are created by the students. The classes will be taught by Yongmi Kim. There is a limited number of spaces so that each class will be small with more individual attention to the students. There is an introductory price of $56.00 for the one hour session, and $112.00 for the extended classes. Materials and firing are included in the price. Adult classes will be offered in the future.
