The Bogota Police Dept has issued a traffic alert for Thursday-16-November. The Suez water company will be working on the main water line under the street. Work is schedule to continue until late January -2018. This will occur on W. Main St. between Larch and Elm Aves. This is scheduled to start at 7:00a and run to 4:00p. All parking on W.Main will be suspend during this time. Traffic in both directions may be detoured during this project, please plan alternate routes. Business parking will be permitted on both Larch and Elm Aves and may cause additional congestion on those streets.

The Bogota Varsity Cheerleaders will be hosting their third annual Dance to the Beat event. This will take place on Saturday -3-February and be held at in the Bogota High School Gymnasium with the doors opening at 5:00p Tickets are priced at $10.00 person for Adults and $5.00 for Students.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to the American Heart Association's Go Red Foundation in honour of Julio Alvarez.
This is in support of the American Heart Association To bring awareness and education of heart disease. There will include dancing to help our community learn about healthy heart, mind and lifestyle. This is another way the Bogota Varsity Cheerleaders strive to help different foundations and assist in the community. This event is in honour of Cheerleading Head Coach Gabrielle Carpenter's late Uncle Julio Alvarez who had been diagnosed and lost his battle to heart disease.

The Friendship House of North Jersey will be holding a wine and painting event. This will be a fundraiser to assist them in their mission to build the skills of individuals with varying abilities and developmental needs by providing, within a safe haven, comprehensive clinical treatment, vocational training and work opportunities in order to achieve meaningful and productive lives. Tickets for this event are priced at $45.00 per person which will include all necessary materials for painting. There will also be light refreshments including soft drinks and bottles of Prosecco wine provided. Anyone attending may bring their own Wine or soft drinks. Bogota Beautiful and the Bogota Public Library has announced more details of their 3rd annual Community Pot Luck dinner. This will take place on Saturday-17-February.

This will run from 4:00p to 6:00p and take place in the second floor Senior Center located at 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. Library coordinator Tom Skrnich was confirmed that five entertainers have agreed to preform during the evening. Those scheduled are Councilman David McFarland, Jim Musto, Erin and John Wohlberg, Steve Kelerman and members of the Bogart Choir. Admission is a dish to be shared with others in attendance.
It is asked that anyone wishing to attend must donate a dish representing one's cultural background. There will also be a collection of food item for the St. Joseph's Food Bank. These should non-perishable canned , or boxed goods. They are also looking for volunteers to aid with set-up, serving, and cleaning. Any High School Student will earn Community Service credit for this event. All Volunteers are asked to arrive at 1:00p . Food items will be accepted from 2:30-3:30p with the dinner starting at 4:00p.
Anyone attending must register at: Bogota Beautiful/Bogota Public Library Pot Luck Dinner, and list what item they will be bring. Dishes needed are Appetizers, Main Course, Side Course, and Desserts. This program is scheduled to continue until Tuesday-27-March-2018. They will be one hour session starting at 7:00p and run by Gisela Medina. The library is again working with AARP this year to provided assistance in tax preparation. This will be available on Thursday and Fridays from now until Saturday 15- April. This is targeted to anyone over the age of 60 who could also be collecting Social Security .

The Bogota Public Library have Reading Buddies available for February. This is a program where older Students assist younger ones with their homework and reading skills. On this day several Sixth Grade Student were on hand to offer guidance on how best to answers question about their school assignments.
The Reading Buddies program will take place between 3:30-4:30p when the Library is open. Buddies will meet in the Nikki Spiegel Children's Area. Students looking for may come in and ask for a Buddy to work with. Any older Student who wishes to volunteer their time to become a Reading Buddy should contact the Library at:

The Bogota Public Library will offer an AARP Defensive Driving Course. This is designed for drivers over the age of 50 and will explain update driving rules and teach defensive driving techniques. This will start at 11:00a and be held in the second floor Senior Centre There is a $15 fee fro AARP members and $20 for non-members and anyone attending is asked to register with the library in advance. The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. Bogota Beautiful will host the their of Zumba Nights in association with Bogart Church. These will occur every Tuesday starting on 2-January. This program is scheduled to continue until Tuesday-27-March-2018. They will be one hour session starting at 7:00p and run by Gisela Medina. This will take place at Bogart Church's new Community space. Each session will cost will be $10 per person, or $25 for a family of three or more. Tickets will available at the door.
