Results from Bogtoa Varsity Sports on Thursday-11-January. The Bogota Bowling Bucs lost to Midland Park by a score of 2-5. Their next is on Tuesday-16-January against Hawthorne Christian Academy. This will take place at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, NJ with a start time of 4:00p
The Bogota Lady Bucs basketball team traveled to Palisades Park to play the Lady Tigers. Palisades Park double up Bogota for the first eight minutes 10-5. The Lady Tigers then extended that lead to 17-11 by Halftime. After the restart Palisades Park took control of the rest of the game and had a 37-19 victory over Bogota. Melissa Cristaldo and Leyla Merhi recorded team highs with 7 Points apiece. Qwyneth Trujilo would record the only Three point basket of the game. Bogota's record is now 0-8. They next travel to Cresskill on Tuesday-16-January. This will have a scheduled start time of 4:00p
The Men's Basketball Bucs took on Palisades Park at Speary Gym. Bogota tool a first Quarter lead of 20-13. The Tigers came back strong in the next Quarter and took a 40-32 lead into the Locker Room. Bogota started to cut into the Tigers advantage and trailed by only 3 Points after Three Quarter Time. In the final quarter Bogota retook the lead and held off the visitors for a 71-69 win. Dieker Padrino had game highs of 25 Points and 5 Three point Baskets. Other Bucs three point scores were Argenis Soriano with 4, Tim Uzor with 3 and Colin McDonnell with 2. With this win Bogota's record is now 8-1, and allows them to qualifies into the Bergen County Men's Basketball Tournament. This will be the 18th Jamboree appearance with Jay Mahoney as Coach.
