On Thursday-14-December the Bogota Music Dept. held it's annual Winter Concert. The Bogota Jazz band under the Direction of Barry McCann. They started the musical evening with upbeat renditions of some popular Christmas Carols. Finishing their set with "Hot Chocolate" from the movie Polar Express. The Jazz band was joined by Superintendent Dr. Vincent Varcadipane on Bass Guitar.
The next group was the premier performance by the Bogota Guitar Ensemble. This was made up by the Students Andrea Lynch's new Guitar class. They play a small set of classic carols. With Alondra Batista and Sydney Mazzella performed a duo of Coventry Carol.
After this the Bogota Concert Choir began the vocal section of the program. While much of their set was standard carol they stepped away from Holiday themed song to sing an more inspirational piece "Who Lives, Who Dies,, Who Tells Your Story" from the Musical Hamilton. This feature solo performances by Emey Cabrera, Kaylin Torres, Amely Valerio, Christopher Tomlinson, Elizabeth Badripersaud, and Sofia Martinez. Before their final song the more veteran members of the choir took a moment to thank Choir Director Andrea Lynch for her guidance and time to the choirs at the High School. Then the Choir lead the Audience in a rendition of " Let It Snow". This was followed by the A Cappella Choir with two songs.
After the intermission the Bogota Concert Band took the stage with Christmas Carols and Hanukkah music to enjoy. There feature piece was " In The Winter of 1730" which was written in honour of 300 years of Ohio History. This had solos by Lara pena on Recorder, and Jackelyn Saquique on Piccolo. After this song Band Director Barry McCann was also presented with gifts thanking him for his work in both the Jazz and Concert Bands. The evening ended with A Christmas Festival incorporating traditional Christmas Carols beginning with Joy to the World and ending with Jingle Bells and O Come All Ye Faithful.
