On Friday-15-December three more Bogota Varsity sports open their 2017-18 season. The Lady Bucs Basketball team traveled to North Arlington to play the Lady Vikings. North Arlington had a 4 point lead after one quater, and extended it 7 points by Halftime. After the restart the two team played an almost event next quater with the Lady Vikings maintaining their lead. In the final 8 minutes Bogota tried to mount a comeback but fall short by the score of 37-38.
Leila Ksiyer had a game high with 18- Points including 2 Three Point Baskets, Amanda Schlosser also score a three pointer. Their next game will be on Tuesday-19-December when they travel to Park Ridge. Tip off time is scheduled for 4:00p
The Men's Basketball Bucs played at Saddle River Day School. Bogota started out strong taking a 13-4 lead after 8 minutes. The Rebels closed the gap in the next quater, but Bogota still had a led 20-16. In the second half the teams traded baskets for the rest of the game with Bogota coming winning by a 53-46 score.
Tim Uzor has a team high 17 Points for Bogota, including 1 Three Point Basket. Argenis Soriano scores a game high 2 Three point Baskets and Deiker Padrino also recorded one from beyond the arc.
The next play on Tuesday-19-December against Park Ridge. This will be their Home Opening game on the Jay Mahoney court in Speary Gym. This has a scheduled start time of 7:00p.
The Bogota Bowling Bucs lost to Park Ridge on Thursday 0-7. They will next play on Monday-18-December against Palisades Park at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, NJ with a scheduled start time of 4:00p.
The Bogota/ Weehawken Wrestling squad had their season opener against Dover at Speary Gym. Bogota/ Weehawken would 4 of the nine bouts played with Brandon Gonzalez and Kevin Rodriguez scoring pinfalls. Charles Romero would win in overtime and Michael Fitzgerald would win by decision.
They next compete on Wednesday-20- December at New Milford. The first bout is scheduled for 6:00p
