On Wednesday-27- December both Bogota varsity Basketball teams competed in Holiday Tournaments. The Lady Bucs played host the Ridgefield Lady Royals in the Ridgefield Tournament. This was played at Ridgefield High School. The Lady Bucs trailed by 14 Points after the first quarter and fell to the host by a score of 30-51. Leila Ksiyer had a team high of 14 Points including one Three Point Basket. Amanda Schlosser also had a three point basket. The Lady Bucs record is now 0-4. Their next scheduled league game is on Tuesday -16-December at Cresskill. This is to have a 4:00p tip-off.
The Men's Basketball Bucs played in the second round of the Garfield Holiday Tournament. They need overtime to come away with a 58-57 win. The Cardinals doubled up Bogota by the end of the first eight minutes, 12-6. The Bucs would comeback in the next quarter and take a 23-19 lead into the locker room. Westwood would out score Bogota in the next two quarters, but only enough to tie the game at 51 apiece. In the extra time Argenis Soriano's three point basket would give the Bucs the needed point to win the game. They will next play Tenafly on Friday-29 December in the Championship game which is scheduled to start at 7:30p. Bogota's record is now 5-0. Deiker Padrino had a game high of 22 Points. Mr Padrino, Argenis Soriano, and Tim Uzor had 2 Three Point basket each, with Colin McDonnel also scoring one Three Pointer. Ben Lukabu recorded 10 rebounds.
