Sunday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents. It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -18- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

The Trinity Lutheran Church will be holding its annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive. They will be collecting Frozen Turkeys & other Non-Perishable food item to be distributed to those families in need this Holiday season. On Saturday-18-November they will be collecting frozen turkeys, and other perishable items. Drop off time for frozen turkeys is from 9:00a to 1:30p at the Trinity Church located at 167 Palisade Ave Bogota, NJ. They are currently accepting any type of non-perishable food item after Sunday Service , or during normal weekday business hours. They are working in conjunction with the St .Peter Church in River Edge, NJ. All collected items will be distributed by the Food Bank of New Jersey. For more information please call 201-487-3576.

Bogota Beautiful having a Fall clean-up event. This will be to prepare the W.Main St planters for the upcoming Winter. Volunteers will clean, and remove debris, old growth and weeds from the planters. They will also be adding mulch to protect the plants from Winter frost and cold. This will start at 1:00p and start near the corner of W.Main St & Larch Ave. Any High school who volunteers will recieve community service credit. For more information or to sign up please go to:

U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey's fifth Congressional District will be hosting a Roundtable meeting On Tax Hike Bill. This will take place at the Coach House Dinner located at 55 State Rte 4 starting at 10:00a.
Congressman Gottheimer and members of the Practitioners Forum, a committee of the Bergen Chapter of the New Jersey Society of CPA’s, will host a Roundtable Discussion.
They will be available for a conversation about the proposed Tax Hike, particularly on the State and Local Tax Deduction and the Mortgage Interest Deduction. Rep. Gottheimer and the team of Tax Experts will then be made available for questions.

The Bogota Public Library have Reading Buddies available for February. This is a program where older Students assist younger ones with their homework and reading skills. On this day several Sixth Grade Student were on hand to offer guidance on how best to answers question about their school assignments.

The Reading Buddies program will take place between 3:30-4:30p when the Library is open. Buddies will meet in the Nikki Spiegel Children's Area. Students looking for may come in and ask for a Buddy to work with. Any older Student who wishes to volunteer their time to become a Reading Buddy should contact the Library at:

The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Junior Football The #2 Junior Division Football Bucs will play against #1 Englewood. In the Championship Game of the BCJSFL . It will be played at Weehawken Stadium with a kickoff schedule for 7:00p
