Starting on Thursday-16 March the Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement. Construction is schedule to take 10 Months to complete.
Charity
The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. Hook & Ladder Co. #1 and Engine Co. #1 will hold their annual Blood Drive on Thursday-28- September. This event will take place at the West Broad St. Firehouse next door to the Police Headquarters. The drive will start at 3:00p and go to 8:00p, and is being co-sponsored by the Community Blood Services. Along with the collection of red blood cells as well as blood platelets. The blood cells are use for transfusions for anyone who need to replenish their system due to an accident or surgery. Platelets are use to aid in blood clotting that are use for those going through cancer treatments , or organ transplants. Anyone donating will recieve a gift. If anyone wants to schedule an appointment please: call 201-251-3703. However all who wish to can come to the firehouse between 3:00- 8:00p and donate without an appointment.
Anyone may donate if the are between 17-75 years old, in good heath, and weigh at least 110 lbs. A donor is accepted even if they are prescribed medications that are frequently taken, inform the staff of all medication being taken, and it is recommended that a donor have a good meal , and plenty of fluids prior to donating.

This is another way the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department serves the citizens of Bogota. The Bogota Fire Department is an all volunteer organization serving the Borough since 1901. They also provide assistance in rescue , and other emergency situation. The Bogota Fire Department is now currently recruiting new members to become volunteers. This is open to anyone Female or Male who are at least 18 years of age , and are residents of Bogota as well as Ridgefield Park, Teaneck ,and Hackensack. Training, and equipment will be provided. There is also a Junior Firefighter program open to young Women, and Men who at at least 16 years of age. A Junior Firefighter will also receive training , and be a part of the support system to the Firefighters themselves. The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office.
