On Saturday-24-September the Bogota Junior Football Buc had their home opening games played at Fiegel Field. Bogota hosted the teams from Weehawken. This game allowed the Bucs to unveil their new uniforms. These were made possible by the Bogota/ Ridgefield Park Rotary Club. This was spearheaded by Bogota businessman Kenneth O'Donnell.
The Pee-Wee played the first game. After trading scores in the first half Bogota found themselves trailing by six points as they started the final offensive series of the game. The Bucs drove down the field and came-up one yard short of tying the game but the game ended 22-28. Hamlet Garcia scored two Touchdowns and David Perez had one for Bogota. The Junior team took quick advantage of the Indians turnover to score three straight touchdown by Michael Olivo on their way to a 36-0 shutout. Vance Mixon had an interception which he ran back for a touchdown. And John Canada IV also recorded a touchdown. The Senior team held Weehawken close for most of the game , but could not cross the goal line and suffer at 0-12 shutout.
The next play on Saturday-30-September at Englewood. This will start with the Pee-Wee game at 6:00p with the other division to follow.
