On Tuesday -1-August communities across the country held their annual Night Night Out event. The Township of Teaneck had theirs at Votee Park. This was hosted by the Teaneck Police Dept. to reach out to the citizens they work for. Along with the Police Dept members of the Teaneck Fire Det. Ambulance Corp, & Military units took part in showing some of their equipment and answered question about the job they do. The Police Dept. had a K-9 unit from the Bergen County Sheriff's Dept, which showed how the Police officer and their four legged partner worked together to enforce the law. The Fire Dept. had a demonstration of how they recuse a victim of a vehicular accident. The Ambulance Corp showed how to perform CPR and gave other first aid techniques. While the public had the opportunity to talk with ,and see the equipment used by, members of the Armed Forces.
There were a number of activities for the younger members of the the Township. Climbing walls, bounce houses, slides were set up to promote physical fitness. There was also the opportunity to send a Police Officer into a dunk tank. A number of local business offered face painting, food, games, giveaway, and other information to anyone interested. The evening was capped off by a concert from Kris Aaron.
