On Tuesday and Wednesday 11&12 July the section of Palisades Ave from Cane St. to the Teaneck border was repaved. Over the past six years the majority Palisades Ave from Interstate -80 to the Teaneck line have been repaved. This latest section was financed by grants from The US Dept of Housing and Urban Development through a Community Development Block Grant program. Along with the repaving a number of storm drains were repaired or replaced. Also as in the other part of Palisades Ave new corner curb cuts were added to allow full access in crossing the streets. This is the latest in street improvements over the past six years. Other project that were completed with the aid of County, State, and Federal funding were the removal of debris from the creek along Elm Ave at River Rd. The replacement of sidewalks on Elm Ave south of W. Main St. The regrading and added drainage to Leonia Ave north of E. Main St. And the replacement of sidewalks on West Shore to River Rd. While the repaving of W.Ft Lee Rd and River Rd to the Ridgefield Park border was done by PSE&G, Bergen County took the opportunity to replace and repair the storm drains along those section of roads.
