The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. Districts 1&6 is that part of the Borough located West of the Railroad tracks.

Bogota Beautiful will again host their Yoga in the Park classes. These will run every Saturday in May and June. Class will be one hour. These will take place each in Olsen Park and start at 9:00a. Classes will be led by a Professional Yoga instructor. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, or experience. The classes will meet at the Bandshell in Olsen Park depending on the number of attendees classes may be held in the bandshell or on the lawn in front of the bandshell. Everyone you wishes to attend is required to provide their own mat, towels, and water. Comfortable clothing that will allowed free and ease of movement should be worn. The Bogota Police Emergency Service Youth Academy will be accepting applications of Student who will be entering grades 6,7 &8 for the school year starting in September 2016. Applications will be available for pick-up starting at 7:00a. at the Bogota Police Headquarters ( or at the W.Broad St. firehouse).
Over the past several years the line to pick up application has starting forming one to two hours before the starting time. It is recommended that the Student themselves pick-up the application, this helps show the Academy officials that the Student is serious about being apart of the Youth Academy. After that date application may be pick-up at Police Headquarters. Applications must be returned to Police Headquarters.
There is a nominal fee for those Cadet who will be accepted into Class 06. This is payable on the Parent Orientation day to be announced later. The Bogota Public Library will host a workshop for young athletes in Bogota This will be the first of four Saturday's to encourage Students to learn more about how learning any sport can be beneficial in everyday life. It will be in two separate age groups. One group for anyone ages from 2-4 will run from 10:30a to 11:00a. The second group will be for ages 5-7 and start at 11:15a to 12:00 noon. This is a free event, but anyone attending is asked to register with the library in advance. The Bogota Environmental Commission will host its annual Shred Day. This will take place from 9:00a to 1:00p. This is a free service open to Bogota residents. There will be a shredding truck present which will allow residents to safely dispose of any personally , or sensitive paper document they may have. This is also a more environmentally friendly way of disposing of those documents. Paper is feed into a secure truck while being shredded then the truck transport the shredded paper to a processor which turns the paper into a fine dust, or powder which is then recycled into various paper products. This will be held at the Bogota Recreation Center located at 162 W. Main St. Bogota, NJ.
