On Memorial Day-29-May the Borough of Bogota held its annual Memorial Day Parade. The procession was held off by the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneer Band. They were followed by Officers of the Bogota Police Department. After that Bogota Mayor Chris Kelemen and the Bogota Borough Council, with Congressman Josh Gottheimer and Bergen County Freeholders Mary Amoroso and Germaine Ortiz behind them. The veterans from the Bogota VFW Post #5561, and American Legion Post #117 marched with the Sailors from the USS Lassen to the salutes, & cheers, and Thank-you of the viewers. Member of the Bogota Volunteer Emergency Services also marched along. The Bogota Rescue Squad, and the all four Companies of the Bogota Fire Depts. walked along with the vehicle's lighting the way in red and blue lights.
The troop of the Bogota Girl Scout march by and collected food for the St. Joseph's food bank as the proceeded through the Borough. An number of other bands provided music along the way. And the final honour of marching was given to the members of the Ridgefield Park Volunteer Fire Department.
