On Wednesday -10-May the remains of 1st Lt William Ryan USMC were laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery. In front of a gathering of over 250 Family, Friends, Former Comrades and other members of the US Armed Forces had the opportunity to pay their respects to the Lt Ryan. After a service earlier in the day the casket of the fallen Marine was then moved to his final resting place by horse drawn caisson in order move continue his journey. As the Lieutenant’s body was being escorted a detachment of Osprey flew overhead and performed the missing man formation, as one of the planes move away from the others. The procession then moved on to the grave site lead by the Marine Corp Band and Honour Guard, then followed by the immediate family. Before the start on the eulogize Lt Ryan was given a 21 gun salute. A final prayer was said, and the flag covering the casket was then folded and presented to Lt. Ryan son Michael. Then Mr. Ryan, along with his family and other each place a single red rose on the casket to say one more goodbye, and a welcomed home the Son, Brother, Friend, Husband, Father, Comrade in Arms, and American lost for so many years and now finally allowed to rest at home.
