On Saturday-27-May the Alementary Brewery will be hosting a closing night reception for Bogota artist Rita Flores. This will be the climax of her show "Hero and Bombshells" currently on display at the Bottom of the Barrel galley at the Alementary Brewery. Ms. Flores is a Bogota resident and graduate of Bogota High School and Montclair State University. She primarily works in Oils and Acrylic paints and has started to develop the use of digital devices to expand her media choices. With this current show she has created a number of works using an electronic table and the application that can be obtained for it. This has allowed Ms. Flores to expand and have greater control of the colour palette available to use. For this show she has drawn inspiration from the styles of Andy Warhol, and Henri Matisse with her use of bright colours. Her subject for this show have been taken from popular culture to include images of musical stars, and charters from graphic novels.
Ms. Flores show is currently available for viewing from Thursday to Sunday. The gallery is open until 8:00p on weekdays and from 12:00n to 10:00p on Saturdays and 12:00n to 6:00p on Sundays. The closing reception will be on Saturday-27-May running from 7:00p to 10:00p This will take place at the Alementary Brewing Company located at 58 Voorhis Ln. in Hackensack, NJ. This is open to the public.
With the conclusion of this show Rita Flores will next display her work in conjunction with Bogota Beautiful's pop-up art gallery project. Both Ms. Flores and Bogota Beautiful are in negotiations to display her works at one of the W.Main St business in Bogota, NJ.
