On Tuesday -17 February the Bogota Board of Education had their Regular Business meeting. At the start of the meeting Members of the Board of Education took time to reward the athletes from the Fall Sports schedules whose team won championships for the 2016 season. The teams honoured were the Middle School Lady Bucs Volleyball Team. Head Coach Shannon Raftery presented the team with shirts acknowledging their season. They went undefeated as well as winning the end of season tournament and finishing with a record of 16-0
Men's Cross Country Coach Pat Rochford presented jackets to the Men's Squad in honour of winning three main victories with League, County and State Group I Championships.
Finally Lady Bucs Volleyball Head Coach Brad DiRupo presented his team with a shirt in honouring their 2016 State Group I Championship. This was their sixth State Championship in seven years.
The main items from the Board Meeting was the approval of Andrea Lynch as Choral Director and Music Appreciation teacher for the rest of this current school year. And Michael Webb as Elementary Instrumental Music Teacher for the rest of this current school year. The Board also approved of Magnus Project to work with Physical Education Teacher Mrs. Ciccone in helping to promote and expand the physical education instruction during Gym class. This will take place at Steen School for this year for a test project with the possibility of expanding to Bixby School in coming years. This test program will have no cost to the district.
The next Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday 7-February. This will be held in the Bogota High School Cafeteria starting at 7:30p. This is open to the public. The Cafeteria is located on the second floor at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ
