On Thursday-10-November the #1 Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team played #9 Glen Rock in a Semi-final match at home in Speary Gym. Bogota started quickly taking an early 7-1 lead. Then out scored the lady Panthers by a 2 to 1 margin to take the first game 25-12. In the second game Bogota again took an early lead, But Glen Rock stood their ground to keep the game close. The Lady Bucs Samantha Gioiosa opened some distance in points, but Glen Rock came back to narrow the score a second time. Lizbeth Suarez secured the 25 -18 second game and 2-0 match win. This gave Bogota the Group 1 Section A ( formally known as State 1 North 1) title. They now move on to play #3 Verona in the State Group 1 Championship match on Saturday 12-November at William Patterson University. This is scheduled for a 4:30p start.
Playing in their final Varsity match at Speary Gym Seniors Samantha Gioiosa had a team high 22 Kills and 2 Aces. Kaliana Vasquez had 18 Assists and 4 Service Points and Julia Goni had 4 Service Points and 2 Blocks. Amy Chavez had a team High 12 service Points with 2 Aces, and Anna Granquist also had 2 Aces.
