On Tuesday -1-November the #1 Bogota Lady Bucs played #32 West Caldwell Technical school in the first round of the NJSIAA Group 1 Tournament. Due to a scheduling conflict the match was moved forward a day instead of playing on Wednesday. The first game started with Anna Granquist scoring the first 10 Service Points to give Bogota a lead they would not give up. Towards the end of the first game when Bogota Senior Samantha Gioiosa scored one of her match high 16 Kills Bogota Coach Brad DiRupo would use a timeout to Honour Ms Gioiosa on what would be her 1,000th Kill of her High School career. She now joins Carly O'Sullivan in achieving this mile stone. Bogota would go on to win this match 2-0 (25-6 : 25-10).
Ms. Granquist would also led Bogota with 4 Aces and Kaliana Vasquez record 16 Assists. Bogota now must wait for the outcome of the #16 North 13th Street Tech and #17 Johnson match to be played on Wednesday to see who their next opponent will be.
