The Bogota library will once again be holding it's food for fines month in October. This will allow anyone with over due books, or other items to donated a food item instead of paying for the fine. Each item donated will be equal to $1.00 worth of fines. Items must to
non-perishable, and in a non-glass container. All food item will be donated to the St. Joseph's food bank.

October to December
Monday -3- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents. It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -19- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

The Bogota Emergency Departments will hold their second Volunteers night. This will be a chance to see the equipment used by the first responders who are based in Bogota. Members of the Bogota Fire Department, Heavy Rescue Squad and the Auxiliary Police Department will be on hand to show how they respond to emergency situation, how their equipment works, and answer questions about their duties. They will also able at sign-up any one who wishes to become a Volunteer with one , or more, of the departments.
This will take place in the Valley Bank Parking lot from 5:30p to 9:00p. It is located at the corner of E.main St and Palisades Ave. Bogota, NJ

The Bogota High School PTO and the New Jersey School Board Association will host a Candidates Debate for the five Candidates running for the three seats on the Bogota Board of Education. Ray Pinney of New Jersey School Board Association will moderate the event. This will be held in the Bogota High School Cafeteria and begin at 7:00p. This is open to the public. The cafeteria is located on the second floor of Bogota High School 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ

The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office.
