Sports Notes:
The Bogota Soccer Bucs were shut-out by Midland Park 0-3. There next game is Schedule for Thursday -15-Sept. at Dickerson. Kick-off is Schedule for 4:30p.
The Bogota Lady Bucs Cross Country Squad won their meet versus Hawthorne Christian Academy and Saddle River Day School. Alanah O'Brien finished first overall with Emma O'Brien, Angelie Jaipersaud, and Ashley Gomez also placing in the top five, The Men's race was postponed to to weather conditions. A replacement date has not been set. Both squads will next compete on Saturday -17-Sept at the Maroon Invitational at Garrett Mountain.

Bogota Beautiful is conducting a contest to find the Bogota resident with the most appealing curb presents. This is open to all homeowners in Bogota. The homeowner may submit their own residents, or other resident for consideration. The general Public may also nominate any home in Bogota for consideration. Only the front and side yards are eligible to be nominated. There are two different categories that will be voted on. One is the most appealing landscape of any home in Bogota. The other category that will be voted on is the best improved lawn in Bogota. This is a contest for any Homeowner that is currently, or is planning to upgrade and improve their landscaping. Two set of photos are required for this contest. A separate before and after photo should be sent for consideration for this category. To enter either , of both contests 1 to 3 photos the nominated lawn must be sent to bogotabeautiful@gmail.com before Sunday 31-July-2016.
Photos will be posted on Bogota Beautiful facebook page starting on Saturday 6-August for voting. To vote please "like" the photo. Voting is schedule to run through Tuesday 16-August. The top 6 vote "like" getters will be entered into the final round of judge by a committee from Bogota Beautiful. Winners will be announced on Sunday 28- August. The Bogota Police Dept. Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 161 will be hosting a pasta dinner at the Bogota VFW Hall. This will be a fundraiser to assist the FOP to continue their work in donating to varies community project and groups. Doors will open at 5:30p and it will run until 7:30p. Tickets are price at $10 per person and will include a a dinner of pasta & meatball, salads , deserts and soft drinks. Tickets will be available at the door , or by visiting Police headquarters. The Bogota Bucs Cheer Squad are have an Gold for Childhood cancer event. This will take place the the Bogota Football Bucs Home Opener against Wood-Ridge at Fiegel Field. The Cheerleaders will be raising awareness to help prevent Childhood cancer and collecting money to assist St. Jude's Children's Hospital. They ask that anyone attending this game to wear gold to Support Bogota Football and to Support the fight against Childhood cancer.

Ridgefield Park, NJ
The Village of Ridgefield Park will hold it's annual street fair. This will take place on Main St from Cedar to Park Sts. It will run from 10:00a to 5:00p. There will be live music, and Children activities. Vendors will be selling food, crafts and other items.
There will also be a cook-out at the Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge #1506 to raise funds for Homeless Veterans. This will start at 2:00p and run until 6:00p Tickets are prices at $35.00 for anyone 21 & over, $20.00 for anyone aged 11-20, and free for anyone 10 and under. The weekly “ Meet the Mayor” event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor’s office.
