On Monday 30-May the Borough of Bogota held their annual Memorial Day Parade. Lead by the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneers Band the parade made it's way though Bogota finishing at Borough Hall. The Bogota VFW Post #5561 veterans were accompanied this year from Active Duty personal who are on leave in the area as part of the Fleet Week festivities. Marines from the 3rd Battalion 6th Marine Regiment India Company, and Sailors from the the USS Fort McHenry (LSD43) followed behind the Veterans and were greeted by the residents of Bogota thanking them for their service to the Country. Other band that took part in the parade included the Bergen Irish Pipe Band, and the Palisade Park Fire Dept. Band. Fire depts from Ridgefield Park and Oakland joined the members of all the Bogota Emergency Service personal parading in Bogota. Local groups included the teams from the Bogota Baseball Organization, with the Girls Scouts.
