Scores from games played by Bogota sports team from over the weekend.
The Lady Bucs Softball played in the 10th Highwaywomen Softball Classic in Teaneck, NJ on Saturday 23-April. Thier opening game was against the Little Tigers from Princeton, NJ. The Lady Bucs took a 3-1 lead into the third inning, only to have Princeton record five runs in the bottom of the third on route to a 3-8 win over Bogota.
In the consolation game they played Dwight Morrow from Englewood, NJ. This time it was the Lady Raiders holding an early lead, then having Bogota score 4 runs in the top of the second to take the lead. D-M came back to tie after two innings. The Lady Bucs added one run in the top of the third to take a lead they would keep for the rest of the game. Bogota had multiple run innings over the last half of the game while holding Dwight -Morrow to just single runs at the same time. By the end Bogota had come away with a 13-7 Win. Madison heck pitched for the win. Anna Granquist had a game high 3 RBI's with Lezlie Gonzalez having a Double with 2 RBI's.
They next play on Monday 25- April verus Hawthorne Christian Academy starting at 4:00p. This will be played at Lady Bucs Field in Olsen Park.
The Men's Baseball team played at North Arlington on Friday 22- April. Michael Martinez pitch a 3 Strike Out shut out in a 9-0 win. Joey Mitchell had a Homer Run and 2 RBI's while Wilson Richardson also had 2 RBI's
On Saturday 23- April they traveled to Queen of Peace and had a 12-2 win. The Griffins had a one run lead after one inning, then could not score for the rest of the game. Bogota took back the lead in the top of the third with 2 runs. The Bucs then ended the game by scoring 5 runs in the top sixth inning for a 12-2 win. Joey Mitchell pitched for the win while added a double for 1 RBI. Wilson Richardson also had a double and Nico Calabia had a Double & Triple. Chris Castillo hit a two run Home Run for Bogota.
With this win Bogota moved over .500 with a 7-6. They next play on Monday 25- April at Hawthorne Christian Academy starting at 4:00p
