The Bixby Bulldog Band Winter Concert has been rescheduled for this date. Time will still be 7:00p and be held in the Bixby Gymnasium.

Bogota Beautiful will host Winter Salsa night in January. These will be every Thursday (14, 21 ,& 28) of January. These will be lead by Isabel Bustamante who will teach anyone in attendance the art of Salsa Dancing. The lessons are be open to all ages and experiences in dancing. All sessions will take place on the second floor of the Kennedy Emergency Service Building located at 69 W. Main St Bogota, NJ. There will be a suggested donation of $5.00 for the first three night and $10.00 for 28-Jan. The fourth night will be a Salsa Social Dance event. This is open to anyone, of all ages, who knows, or wishes to learn about Salsa Dance. Ms. Bustamante will be one instructor, along with Sasha Valerie leading the class on 21-Jan. The final night dance party on 28-January with music provided. Anyone wishing to donate a food item should contact Bogota Beautiful for more information. Also anyone wishing to volunteering for any of these project. The Bogota Public Library will host an Interactive Guitar Showcase with Joe Lustica. This will begin at 11:00a. Part performance, part hands on exploration of the guitar, part music lesson. Audience members with their own guitars are encouraged to bring them. Young musicians just starting out and who'd value a fun guitar lesson are encouraged to bring their own guitars. And fun shall be had by all!!!

Avenue and Palisade Avenue, Bogota, New Jersey
What you will see: State and local elected officials, area residents holding signs, an “oil train protest singalong”
Bogota, NJ - New Date: On Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the non-profit Coalition to Ban Unsafe Oil Trains, 350NJ.org and allied environmental, faith and labor groups will hold a rally to educate and inform the community about the risks associated with freight trains carrying Bakken crude oil through our communities. To be held on the bridge on E. Main Street, Bogota (between Elm and Palisades Avenues), the rally will highlight the special hazards of trains passing over aging infrastructure and across our drinking water supplies, and the solutions we can all take to reduce our reliance on Bakken crude oil and other fossil fuels.
Rally speakers will include Sen. Loretta Weinberg, (NJ Dist. 37); Asm. Tim Eustace, (NJ Dist. 38) (Invited); Christopher M. Kelemen, Mayor, Bogota; Alan Sohn, Councilman, Teaneck; Paula Rogovin, Founder, Coalition to Ban Unsafe Oil Trains; Toni Granato, Sierra Club of New Jersey; Matt Smith, Food & Water Watch NJ; Members of the Bogota community (invited); Victoria Fisher, community activist and Rosemary Dreger Carey, Organizer, 350NJ. The Solidarity Singers will lead a singalong of oil train protest songs.

This will be in cooperation with the ShopRite of Hackensack They will bring a FREE 3-week weight management series. Come learn about portion sizes, eating healthy on the go, label reading, cooking for weight loss, and more! This free 3-week program will be led by ShopRite of Hackensack registered dietitian, Alison Halpern, RD, CHES. Participants will learn strategies to make healthy lifestyle choices to accomplish their goals. Space is limited.

The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office.
