What you will see: State and local elected officials, area residents holding signs, an “oil train protest singalong”
Bogota, NJ - New Date: On Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the non-profit Coalition to Ban Unsafe Oil Trains, 350NJ.org and allied environmental, faith and labor groups will hold a rally to educate and inform the community about the risks associated with freight trains carrying Bakken crude oil through our communities. To be held on the bridge on E. Main Street, Bogota (between Elm and Palisades Avenues), the rally will highlight the special hazards of trains passing over aging infrastructure and across our drinking water supplies, and the solutions we can all take to reduce our reliance on Bakken crude oil and other fossil fuels.
Rally speakers will include Sen. Loretta Weinberg, (NJ Dist. 37); Asm. Tim Eustace, (NJ Dist. 38) (Invited); Christopher M. Kelemen, Mayor, Bogota; Alan Sohn, Councilman, Teaneck; Paula Rogovin, Founder, Coalition to Ban Unsafe Oil Trains; Toni Granato, Sierra Club of New Jersey; Matt Smith, Food & Water Watch NJ; Members of the Bogota community (invited); Victoria Fisher, community activist and Rosemary Dreger Carey, Organizer, 350NJ. The Solidarity Singers will lead a singalong of oil train protest songs.

The Bogota Bucs Varsity Cheerleaders are hosting an evening of dancing and Zumba on Saturday 6- February. This will be held at the High School in Speary Gym. The event will start at 7:00p and go until 11:00p. This will be held in coordination with the Wear Red Day on Friday 5- February to support treatment and research of cardiovascular diseases. Tickets for this event at $35.00 per person. The ticket price will included Admission, a T-Shirt, Goody Bag and 10 Raffle ticket and one door prize ticket. The Fit Club workouts return to the Bogota Library This uses the "Team Beachbody Fit Club"series which incorporates different styles of exercises. Participates must be 18 years or older and sign a waiver to attend. It is a free event, open to those experienced with the system, or those looking to start and is open to both Women & Men. Participates need to bring their Yoga mat, water bottle, and towels. Comfortable, and free moving exercies clothing should be worn.

The Bogota VFW Ralph Hall Post #5561 will host a Super Bowl viewing event on Sunday 7-February-2016. They will have 8-10 screens available for viewing in both halls and other rooms. Doors will open at noon, with no admission charged. Tables will be available for group seating. Soft drinks, juices, water and coffee will be available for purchase. There will also be a cash bar, with no outside beverage permitted. Food will be available as small plates for $3.00 and large plates for $5.00
