The Bogota Basketball teams play against Hawthorne Christian Academy on Thursday-28-Jan. The Lady Bucs played at HCA and came away with a 45-24 win. Their record is now 4-9.They next play at Saddle Brook on Saturday 30-January with a tipoff scheduled at 11:00a
The Men's team had Andrew Riad make a Three Point Basket as time expired to get a 41-40 win over the defenders. The Bucs again fell behind early, came back to take a 10-9 lead after the first 8 minutes. The increased their lead to 22-17 at halftime, and led by 11 going into the final quarter. Hawthorne took advantages of Bogota turnovers to slowly narrow the margin. With under ten seconds left the Defenders took a two Point lead. Bogota quickly moved the ball upcourt to allow Mr. Riad the chance to throw the winning shot. Andrew Riad led Bogota in Points with 10 and Three Point baskets with 3. Dieker Padrino had a team high 4 Rebounds. Bogota record is now 9-4. They next play in the Bergen County Jamboree ranked at #22. They will play # St. Mary's on Saturday 30-January. This will be play at Bergen Catholic High School with a tip off schedule for 2:30p. Bogota next league game will be on Tuesday 2-February a Waldwick starting at 7:00p
