A recap of the games played by teams from Bogota
The Bogota Jr. Bucs Football teams host Englewood at Fiegel Field on Saturday Morning. The Pee-Wee team lost 6-20. The Junior team were shut out 0-25, and the Senior team was also shut out 0-19. Their next games are on Saturday 31-October when the play Weehawken at Fiegel Field. The Pee-Wee game is scheduled to have a 11:00a kick-off with the other two games to follow.
The Bogota Football Bucs lost at St. Mary's in Rutherford by the score of 6-42. James Dubree scored the lone Bogota Touchdown on a 14 yard pass from Brennen Rodgers. Their record now stands at 1-6. The next travel to Cresskill on Friday 30-Oct with a schedule kickoff at 7:00p
The Bogota Bucs Men's Soccer team lost at Emerson by the score of 1-4. After a scoreless first half Bogota could get one goal from Nicholas Calabia. While the Cavaliers' Jack Dunican netted all four goals for Emerson. Bogota record is now 7-8 Their final game of the season is against Saddle River Day School on Monday at 4:00p
The #9 Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team advanced to the Quarterfinal round of the Bergen County Championship Tournament. They played #8 Mahwah in a second round match at Old Tappan. The Lady Bucs came away with a 2-1 (25-16: 17-25; 25-22) win over the lady Thunderbirds. Kalian Vasquez had a team high of 14 Service Point with 4 of them Aces. Amanda Manzo had 34 Assist, Samantha Gioiosa scored 22 Kills, and Lisbeth Suarez had 18 Digs.
Their next Tournament match is on Tuesday 27-October against #1 Northern Valley/Old Tappan this will take place at Old Tappan High School with a schedule start at 6:30p This will preempt the originally schedule league match versus Park Ridge. Their next scheduled league match will be Thursday 29-October against Saddle River Day School at Speary Gym with a start time of 4:00p
The Bergen County Cross Country Championships were held at the Darlington Park Race Course Both the Lady Bucs, and the Men's squad ran in the Group E races. In the Women's race the Lady Bucs place fifth with Jillian O'Brien coming in ninth. In the Men's race Bogota won the Group "E" race. This is their fourth straight division title. Bogota took the first three places, and had six runners in the top ten. James Draney finished first overall and set a new school record with the time 16:03. This best, Assist Coach, Pat Rochford of 16:06 set in 2008. Other Bogota top ten runners were Daniel Daurio who came in second, and Andy Jaipersaud who finished third. Ryan White placed fifth, and Daniel Rivera and Cole Geraghty finished ninth & tenth respectively.
The Men's Squads next meet will be the Bergen County Meet of Champions. The Lady Bucs will send Jillian O'Brien to the Meet of Champions. This will be held on Saturday 31- October. This will be run at the Darlington Park race course. Times will be announced at a later date.
