Strategic Planning

   On Monday 21- September the Bogota Board of Education held the first of three public meeting to assist in planning the next five year plan for the schools of the Bogota School system.  To start the meeting Superintendent Dr.Letizia Pantoliano review the improvement the Bogota Public school have gone through in the last five years. This meeting was lead by the New Jersey School Boards Association to assist the Borough find ideas to further improve the district. Mr. Al Annunzia from the NJSBA explained the mission of these meeting. In this first meeting the focus was on finding the Strengths & Challenges facing the District at this time. Those in attendance were divided into two groups to agree on ten points on both subjects. Both groups consisted of Members of the Board of Education, Teachers, Administrators, Parents, and member of the Community which talked among themselves. After about 30 minutes both groups reported on what they agreed on. Some of the item both groups agreed on were some of the strengths of the Bogota Public Schools are the Diversity of Population in the schools and Borough. Along with the added Technology over the past several years. Technology was also mention as a common challenge because of the need of upgrades which includes  offer dedicated Science & Math programs. And to retain a stability in Administration leadership.
   The next meeting will take place on Tuesday 20 Oct also at 7:00p. This will be held in the Bogota High School Cafeteria located on the second floor at 2 Henry Luthin Pl, Bogota, NJ . This meeting is open to the public, it is suggested that even if anyone did not attend this meeting, they should still attend at either the next meeting , or the last one in November. After all three meeting are held the NJSBA will report back to the Board of Education with their findings.
