On Monday 13-July the Bogota Public Library hosted a Comic booking making workshop. This was presented by local Cartoonist Patrick Teran. He help introduce students, and some Adults, to the basic principles about the art of making comic books. Mr. Teran
demonstrated how to draw a perspective picture which will give an image depth, and interest. He also talked about how the first images should be "rough sketches" in order to work a story out before doing the final art work. Mr Teran told of how he creates some of his stories by using experiences from his own life. He wanted to stress that inspiration can come from anywhere at any time. Even an unusually dream from the night before can become part of a story. He said it is important write dreams, feelings, and other experiences in a journal because though may not be important now, later they can become an idea for a new story. He mentioned that in the modern comic industry no one person produces a comic book by themselves. His point was that a person should have the skills to write a story, or doing the rough sketches, or inking, or writing the captions, or doing the colouring to become a successful in making comic books.
