On Tuesday 2-June the State of New Jersey will hold its Primary Elections. In Bogota both parties will have only one slate of candidates on their ballot. The one candidate of note will be that for the first time in Bogota history a Woman is running for the office of Mayor on a Major party ticket. Councilwoman Lisa Kohles is the Democratic nomination for Mayor. Councilwoman Kohles is in her first year of the three year term on Bogota Council that she won last year. The other nominated Democratic Candidates are Incumbent Councilman Robert Robbins, who won his first term to Council in 2012. The other Candidate for the full three year on Council is Hector Rodriguez. This is Mr. Rodriguez's first time running for public office. Also running is Ingrid Brito as a candidate to fill one year unexpired Term which was vacated when Chris Keleman was elected Mayor in 2014.
The Republican ticket will be headed by Incumbent Mayor Chris Keleman. This is for the full four year term as Mayor. Mayor Keleman is currently serving the final year of second term of Mayor Pat McHale who resigned in 2013. The Republican candidates for full three year Council terms are Councilwoman Daniele Fede, who was appointed to fill the seat previously held by Mayor Keleman. The other Republican nomination for the three year term on Borough Council is Francisco Miranda. This would Mr. Miranda's first time running for public office in Bogota. Current School Board Trustee Michael Connors is the Republican nomination for the same one year unexpired Term which was vacated when Chris Keleman was elected Mayor in 2014.
In State and County races, Democratic Candidates for State Assembly are Incumbents Valerie Huttle and Gordon Johnson. The Republican Candidates for State Assembly are Joseph Fiscella and Gino Tessaro.
For the Bergen County Board of Freeholders Democratic Candidates are Incumbents Steven Tanelli and Tracy Zur. Also running is Freeholder Thomas Sullivan who was appointed to fill the seat previously held by County Executive James Tedesco who elected to that post in 2014 The Republican Candidates are John Mitchell and Kenneth Tyburczy. The Republican Candidate Daisy Oritiz-Berger is also running to fill the seat from Executive Tedesco.
Polls will open at 6:00a and close at 8:00p

-- For Districts 1& 6 it is the Bogota Recreation Center at 162 W. Main St.
Districts 1&6 are that part of the Borough located West of the Railroad tracks.
-- For Districts 2&3 it is the Gym of Bogota High School at 1 Henry Luthin Pl. please use the door towards the back of the building on the North side of the Building.
Districts 2& 3 is that part of the Borough located East of the Railroad tracks & North of Beechwood Ave
-- For Districts 4&5 it is in the Gym of the Roy Bixby School at Maplewood & Fischer Aves.
Districts 4 &5 is that part of the Borough located East of the Railroad tracks & South of Beechwood Ave.
