The Bogota Borough Council Meeting original announced to be on Thursday 2- April will now take place on Wednesday 1-April. This will be a regular meeting of the Bogota Borough Council and work session starting at 7:30p in Council Chambers. The agenda from this meeting will also include the agenda from the 19-March meeting which had to be canceled due to overcrowding. If meetings can not be held in the Council Chamber they are normally moved to the Senior Center located on the second floor of the Bogota Library.Bogota Borough Hall and the library are located at 375 Larch Ave, Bogota , NJ. This meeting is open to the public.
The Bogota Environmental Commission will have another giveaway of tree saplings on Thursday 16-April. This will take place at the Bogota Borough Hall from 7:00p to 9:00p. This coincides with the Borough Council meeting to be held at 7:30p that night. These saplings are part of the "New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign" This is part of the effort to replace damaged, or destroyed tree during Hurricane Sandy. The Bogota Day 2015 organizing committee held their first meeting and announced the confirmation of some participations for this years events. These are the groups and entertainers that will at Bogota Day on Saturday 13 -June- 2015 in Olsen Park.
The entertainment that is now scheduled is to have Hector Martinez to provide music throughout the day. The Bogota High School Jazz band will be the opening act of the day at 12:00 noon. Other performers will be Triangulo and Dance3volution times will be announced at a later date.
Some of the local organization schedule to be food vendors are The Bogota Republic Club, The Bogota Democratic club, The Bogota Community Alliance, The Knights of Columbus, the Bogota Baseball Organization, the Bogota High School Lady Bucs Volleyball team.
Other local groups in attendance will be The Bogota Public library, Bogota Beautiful, Bogota Cub Scouts pack 5, The Bogota VFW post 5561, Kids Safety Awareness Program. More groups will announced as they are confirmed.
A car show has just been added to the days activities, this will that place on Bogota Day Blvd. ( The W. Main St. Extension) Discussion are continuing to provide Rides and Games for all three day of Bogota Day weekend. A selection of rides for all age groups will be provided.
Booths are now available to Local groups, Businesses, and craft makers. Fee for one 10' booth for craft vendors is $50. Booths must be paid for on or before Monday 8- June. During the Main Festival Day the W. Main St. Extension ( Bogota Day Blvd) will be closed to traffic. No food vendors will be accepted. Local Clubs and Organization will be allow to serve food item. There is also sponsorship opportunities available for Businesses or groups.
