Reminder:

  Bogota Blog NJ along with Bogota Beautiful is starting a drive to collect gift cards in order to help the Citizens of Edgewater, NJ. With the assistance of Bogota Mayor Chris Keleman there will be a collection box located in Borough Hall in the secretary's office.  The secretary's office will be open during normal business hours which  are from Monday to Thursday from 8:00a to 5:00p. Bogota Borough Hall is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ

   On Thursday 5-Feb. The Bogota Public Library held their latest meeting of the Dr. Who club. Started by Director Radwa Ali this is a chance of followers of the BBC series to meet, watch , and discuss episodes with others. It is also a chance for those who have heard about the show , and would like to find out more about.  The idea for the group meet-up was started by Ms. Ali as a chance  for some friends to get together and watch old shows.   When she was appointed  the Director of the Bogota Library she found the opportunity  to  expand the group and  introduce  it to Bogota. She is hoping to bring in resident to the Library that would like to see more of the show. She is also thinking  that this would give people outside of the Borough a good reason to visit the Bogota Library , and find out what else they have to offer.   The next  meeting is scheduled to be on Thursday 26-Feb. starting at 7:30p. They normally are to meet in the Seniors Center, However the most recent view was held in the Borough Council Chamber due to the Council meeting was moved to the larger Senior Center. The view on 5- Feb was a small group  which was explained by the fact of the weather , and the chance of venue. Ms. Ali did note that the previous meeting was attended by a larger number than  she  expected, and is hopeful it will continue to grow. 

  
    Another new project at the Bogota Library will be the Smarty Pants Authors  Lecture series. This will be based on traditional style of topical discussion, in the age before the internet.  This will be a chance to listen Authors, and writers  share their thoughts  and discuss their works with others. The first lecture will be Thursday 19- Feb.This will feature Sheila Robinson-Kiss who will speak about relationships.
   The next lecture will be on Tuesday 24- February and will have Author  Jeff Perry talk about his book "Hubert Harrison: The new Voice of Harlem Radicalism"  Both lectures will start at 7:00p and take place in the Bogota Senior Center located on the second floor of the Library.
